Mission Statement
The purpose of this website is to assist high school and college students in conducting research on the life of Harriet Tubman. By providing links to comprehensive resources, the website will enable students to learn about Harriet Tubman’s courage and determination to fight against the social injustice of slavery. In addition, it will feature biographical information about Tubman’s early life and experiences as a slave, escape from slavery, spirituality, work in the Underground Railroad and Civil War, and achievements as a suffragette and humanitarian. The website will also contain a user friendly contact page and will not endorse any particular religious or social agenda. All images found on the website will be open domain. All information on the site that has not been authored by me will be acknowledged through proper citations or links. The website content is comprised of historical information and will not be updated beyond December, 2015.
